NBAA’s YoPro Program to Celebrate Five Years at NBAA-BACE

NBAA’s Young Professionals in Business Aviation (YoPro) program has grown from a single networking reception held at the 2014 convention into a multi-faceted industry workforce development initiative. As a demonstration of how far the program has come, NBAA’s YoPro Council will present a full schedule of events at this year’s convention. “YoPro is important to NBAA’s goal to attract and retain professionals to serve in the industry,” said Sierra Grimes, NBAA manager of registration and founder of the NBAA YoPro program. Open, Cross-Generational Communication Key to Industry’s Success

With employees of different background and age groups in the workplace, it’s imperative in today’s fast-paced environment that professionals learn to work with others who may have different backgrounds, as well as respect each other’s varied experiences. And while technological advances may revolutionize how we communicate, characteristics such as patience, respect and understanding will always be important. Industry experts will expand upon these ideas during an education session on cross-generational communication taking place Feb. 9 at the 2018 NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers Conference in Long Beach, CA. YoPro Programs at NBAA-BACE Help Develop Next Generation of Industry Leaders

At NBAA-BACE, education and networking sessions are the core events that help develop and retain the young professionals (YoPros) who are business aviation’s future leaders. An education session, "Generation Next: Developing Future Aviation Leaders," is set for Tuesday, Oct. 10, and will focus on mentoring programs, a proven method of developing and sustaining their aviation aspirations. "Either in open or subject-specific networking, the goal is the same," Sierra Grimes, NBAA manager of registration. NBAA Scholarships Promote the Future of Business Aviation Maintenance

The NBAA Maintenance Committee makes it a priority to bring new people into their sector of the industry through the Maintenance Technical Reward and Career Scholarship (TRACS) program. NBAA Group Connects Young Professionals in Business Aviation

"We decided to put together a team to build a network for young professionals in the industry to connect with each other," said Grimes. NBAA Young Professionals Group Introduces New Advisory Council

NBAA's Young Professionals in Business Aviation (YoPro) announced the formation of its inaugural YoPro Council, a leadership team tasked with overseeing the group's efforts to build relationships between emerging leaders in the industry. The 25 young professionals on the council will be responsible for planning YoPro events and initiatives. "Our goal with YoPro is to provide a community for young professionals looking to make their mark on business aviation, and the experience and enthusiasm our new council members bring will be crucial to that effort," said Sierra Grimes, YoPro founder and NBAA's manager of registration.
