Erica Hogetvedt

Erica Hogetvedt wasn’t the only one who benefited from her NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers (S&D) Training Scholarship – just ask her hometown airport in Minnesota.

Since receiving her S&D Scholarship in 2014, Hogetvedt has been busy, and that’s putting it lightly. Not only did she finish a training course at Fireside Partners’ New Castle, Delaware headquarters, but this June she also left her native Mankato, Minnesota to join Oregon-based Global Aviation’s Charter Team as a flight coordinator, a role she’s thrived in.

Before leaving Minnesota, however, Hogetvedt was able to apply her skills from Fireside’s Emergency Response and Family Assistance Training Course to help the City of Mankato develop a new Emergency Response Plan for the local airport. She said that the training she acquired from the award, “gave me the tools I needed to write a detailed Emergency Response Plan as they were getting ready for an airshow.”

Hogetvedt’s advice for anyone considering applying for a scholarship? Go for it. “There are many different [scholarship] opportunities to take advantage of and they are definitely worth the time and effort,” she said. “In addition, it’s a great way to further your career and meet more people within the business aviation Industry.”

Hogetvedt is currently busy settling into her new home in Oregon and hopes to attend Schedulers & Dispatchers Conference 2017, where she is sure to continue her success.
