Aug. 3, 2016

The Boeing Seafair Air Show, in the Seattle, WA area, is scheduled from Thursday, August 4 through Sunday, August 7, 2016. There will be temporary flight restrictions (TFRs) in place each day, which will restrict flight operations at Boeing Field/King County International Airport (BFI) during the high performance aircraft portions of the air show.

Air show operations are subject to weather conditions. NBAA encourages flight operators to monitor the Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) for up-to-date information on the TFR restrictions.

Scheduled High Performance TFR Dates/Times (all times local)

Thursday, August 4

  • 10 a.m. to noon (1700z-1900z)
  • 1:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. (2015z-2130z)

Sunday, Aug. 7

During the High Performance TFR times listed above when Boeing Field/King County International Airport is closed, additional airports may see impacts depending upon the weather and airport configurations as follows.

RNT – Renton Municipal – may be closed by airport management.

SEA – Seattle-Tacoma International

  • Runway 34:
    1. If IFR weather cancels the High TFR there will be no impact to ATC.
    2. If it is IFR at SEA but VMC at the TFR, North Flow Plan Charlie will be in effect with an AAR of 26-28.
    3. In VMC conditions the arrival rate will be 32-36 due to fleet mix and complexity. Departures will be turned to a 270 degree heading immediately after takeoff to avoid the TFR.
  • Runway 16:
No impact during Runway 16 as the high performance shows will be cancelled.
