Jeppesen NavData Error at Las Vegas McCarran Airport
January 7, 2013
Jeppesen released a NavData alert on January 4, 2013, concerning improper coding of the RNAV (GPS) approaches to runways 19L and 19R at Las Vegas McCarran International Airport (LAS). These are the primary GA runways for landing since the FBOs are all on the west side of the airport. The RNAV (GPS) approaches are the only approaches to these runways.
Review the Jeppesen NavData alert below.
RNAV Procedures Unusable For Systems Not Receiving Multiple Approach Code Procedures
Jeppesen NavData for cycle 1301, effective 10 January 2013, contains incorrect approach data for McCarran Intl; Las Vegas, Nevada (KLAS). If your system does not handle multiple approach code identifiers, the R19L and R19R coded approach procedures you received in your cycle extract contains the approach coding for the RNAV VISUAL Rwy 19L and RNAV VISUAL 19R Special Procedures instead of the RNAV (GPS) Rwy 19L and RNAV (GPS) 19R approach coding.
THEREFORE, IF YOUR SYSTEM DOES NOT HANDLE MULTIPLE APPROACH CODES, DO NOT USE RNAV RWY19L [R19L] or RNAV RWY 19R [R19R] APPROACH PROCEDURES IN CYCLE 1301 NAVDATA.
Revised coding will appear in Jeppesen NavData for cycle 1302, effective 07 February 2013. Until then an entry will appear in the NavData Change Notices beginning 18 JAN 12, and this Alert will be posted on the Jeppesen Web site.
WE STRONGLY URGE YOU TO MAKE THIS INFORMATION AVAILABLE TO APPROPRIATE CREW MEMBERS OR CUSTOMERS IMMEDIATELY!
