Runway 16R/34L at Van Nuys Airport (VNY) will have restrictions through May 27 due to a major water line repair project as follows:
- Runway 16R will be restricted with temporary declared distances between the hours of 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. (0500z-1400z). (Declared distances are provided in the NOTAM)
- Runway 34L will not be available for arrivals nightly between the hours of 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. (0500z-1400z).
- In order to accommodate previously scheduled runway maintenance, please expect Runway 16R/34L to be closed for two nights beginning Wednesday, May 11 for rubber removal. Appropriate NOTAMs and a separate airport advisory will be issued for this closure.
Runway 16L/34R will also be available during the construction project, however, operators should note the shorter takeoff and landing distances available on this runway.
This project may conclude ahead of schedule so operators should monitor the Notices to Airmen for daily operational updates.
