NBAA, Clark County Highlight Economic Impact of NBAA Convention in Las Vegas

NBAA Honors Longstanding Partnership With Las Vegas Through Victims Fund Donation
NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen today joined Las Vegas-area officials in announcing a $10,000 donation to the Las Vegas Victims Fund, in support of those affected by the horrific events of Oct. 1. Bolen announced the donation at Henderson Executive Airport, just ahead of NBAA’s Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE), which opens Tuesday. “Our thoughts and prayers are with all the people of Las Vegas, especially those who have been lost, and their loved ones,” said Bolen. “The business aviation community stands in solidarity with everyone affected by this tragedy, and we thank the people of Las Vegas for opening their doors to us, especially at this difficult time.” Read more.

ATC Privatization in Focus at World's Largest Business Aviation Event: NBAA-BACE
As the fight against H.R. 2997, which contains a provision for ATC privatization, continues, industry advocacy will take center stage at NBAA-BACE. “NBAA-BACE brings together 27,000 business aviation professionals from all sectors of the industry, and we need each of those stakeholders to mobilize against the single greatest threat to general aviation,” said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. Signage around the exhibit hall and static display, as well as lapel stickers, will encourage attendees to contact their elected officials on site at the show, and a team with mobile devices will help show participants make their voices heard right from the show floor. GA Community Again Opposes 'Washington-Knows-Best' Approach to ATC Privatization
NBAA last week stood with a coalition representing more than 200 organizations, supporting 1 million jobs, and generating more than $200 billion in economic activity, in a joint statement reiterating opposition to legislation for privatization of the nation’s ATC system. "Among many of our concerns, the legislation would give a 13-member Board of Directors unilateral power to set and collect revenues and direct those resources, leaving small and rural communities at risk," read the statement, issued by the coalition. Don't Miss These 4 'Hidden Gems' at NBAA-BACE
NBAA-BACE will feature more than 1,100 exhibitors showcasing the latest and greatest business aviation has to offer, as well as nearly 100 aircraft on static display. But there’s more to the show that attendees won’t want to miss. “The convention team always tries to further enhance the attendee experience by presenting several ‘hidden gems’ for attendees to find,” said Chris Strong, NBAA’s senior vice president, conventions and membership.

Short-Term Deliveries Slip, Extended Outlook Remains Healthy in 2017 Honeywell Forecast
Slow but steady continues to be the theme for anticipated worldwide business aircraft deliveries, according to the 26th annual Global Business Aviation Outlook released by Honeywell ahead of NBAA-BACE. A variety of external factors are expected to drive low single-digit growth over the next 10 years, with up to 8,300 new business jet deliveries worth $249 billion from 2017 to 2027.

Business Aviation Continues to Help with Relief Efforts Following Hurricanes
PALS Sky Hope has organized and flown almost 50 flights to areas impacted by Hurricane Maria, with many additional flights scheduled in the coming days. “Our coordinators have been working 40 days straight on Maria relief, as well as our Hurricane Harvey and Irma efforts,” said Robin Eissler, of PALS Sky Hope. FBOs have also done their part. For example, Fort Lauderdale-based Banyan Air Service has made available a 10,000-square-foot hangar to store and dispense supplies to operators flying relief missions.

NBAA Makes FAQs Available Regarding Safety, Security at This Year's Convention
For any NBAA event, the top priority is the safety and security of all participants, and NBAA coordinating with officials to ensure that show participants will be in a safe, secure environment. In light of the horrific event that took place in Las Vegas a week ago, NBAA is providing answers to some frequently asked questions (FAQs) about this year’s show, and has made those available on the association’s website.

Message of 'No Plane No Gain' Will Resonate Throughout NBAA-BACE
NBAA-BACE has always served as a premier venue to showcase the industry's size, diversity and significance through the No Plane No Gain advocacy campaign, and the 2017 gathering will be no exception. Attendees should look for an expansion of the “Business Leaders on Business Aviation” series, as well as resources stakeholders can use to spread the word of the important role of business aviation to citizens, companies and communities across the U.S.
