NBAA, AOPA Will Begin Co-Hosting Light Business Airplane Conferences
Today during the NBAA 62nd Annual Meeting & Convention (NBAA2009) being held in Orlando, FL, NBAA and the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) announced that the two organizations have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to co-host Light Business Airplane (LBA) Conferences beginning in 2010. The MOU formalizes the relationship between the two associations for coordinating and collaborating on the presentation of an LBA Conference, to be held in conjunction with each of the two organizations' major annual events. Aviation Hero Sullenberger to Keynote NBAA Leadership Conference
Captain Chesley B."Sully" Sullenberger, III, the iconic pilot of US Airways Flight 1549, will be the keynote speaker at NBAA's 18th Annual Leadership Conference, to be held February 24 to 25, 2010, in San Diego, CA. "We are delighted that Captain Sullenberger will join us for our 2010 Leadership Conference," said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. "He is recognized around the world as a person whose experience and dedication to professionalism were key to his steady leadership in a moment of great adversity. NBAA to Offer New SMS Workshops With Respected Training Vendors
NBAA has partnered with ARGUS International, Baldwin Aviation and AeronomX to offer new Safety Management System (SMS) Workshops for the business aviation community. These respected training vendors will provide the knowledge necessary for NBAA Members to understand safety management systems and implement them into their flight operations. NBAA Announces New Board Officer; New Chairman, Vice Chairman Also Selected
The NBAA Board of Directors today announced that the Voting Members of the Association elected Scott A. Moore of Luck Stone, Corp. to a three-year term during its Annual Meeting at the Orange County Convention Center. During the meeting, the Board also announced that Patrick C. Cunningham has been appointed to succeed Jeffrey W. Lee as chairman, and Richard Shine will fill the post of vice chairman/treasurer. Review the press release at:

Roberts, Vornholt Share Inaugural John H. Winant Award
Two former members of the NBAA Board of Directors, Phil Roberts and David Vornholt, today received the Association’s inaugural John H. Winant Award, which recognizes NBAA directors whose service to business aviation extends well beyond their tenure on the Board. Ohio natives Roberts and Vornholt have remained staunch advocates for business aviation since leaving NBAA’s Board. Review the press release at:

NBAA Announces Five Recipients of 2009 Janice K. Barden Scholarship
Five college students studying aviation-related curricula at NBAA and University Aviation Association member institutions have received 2009 NBAA Barden Scholarship awards totaling $5,000. Review the press release at:

NBAA offers a range of scholarships in an effort to provide opportunities for Member employees to further their careers and to encourage young people to seek jobs in business aviation. At NBAA2009, several people received awards from the following NBAA scholarship programs: USAIG/PDP Scholarship, Lawrence Ginocchio Aviation Scholarship, William M. Interest in S&D Conference Growing
With the publication of the Attendee brochure for the upcoming 21st Annual NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers Conference and the announcement that NBAA will be coordinating the event with a related National Air Transportation Association meeting, interest in the S&D Conference is building. The NBAA2009 Online News Bureau this year is featuring NBAA TV, a compilation of video clips featuring updates from the world’s largest civil aviation trade show. Hear Remarks From Industry Leaders at Online Convention News Bureau
In addition to several special NBAA Flight Plan podcasts, the NBAA2009 Online News Bureau includes recordings of events and sessions taking place on-site in Orlando.
