Orlando, FL, October 21, 2009 – The Board of Directors for the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) today announced that the Voting Members of the Association elected Scott A. Moore of Luck Stone, Corp. to a three-year term during its Annual Meeting at the Orange County Convention Center.
Moore is chief pilot and director of aviation for Luck Stone, a family-owned, VA-based supplier of stone construction products. Moore, who flies a Beech King Air 350 for Luck Stone, is a Certified Aviation Manager and former U.S. Air Force pilot with nearly 7,000 hours in 12 different aircraft, along with a quarter century of flight department management and military leadership experience.
During the meeting, the Board also announced that Patrick C. Cunningham has been appointed to succeed Jeffrey W. Lee as chairman. Cunningham serves as director of aviation for PepsiCo, Inc., and Lee serves as director of flight operations for IBM Corporation. Lee's term expired at the conclusion of today's meeting. Richard Shine, CEO of Manitoba, Corp. has been appointed to fill the Board vice chairman/treasurer's post vacated by Cunningham's ascendancy to the chairmanship.
Cunningham thanked his fellow directors for their confidence in his readiness to serve as Board chairman, and enthusiastically welcomed Moore to the Board. "NBAA's directors have long strived to have a diversity of perspectives, strengths and regional backgrounds represented on the Board. Selecting Scott as our newest director fits precisely with this vision, and we know NBAA Members will be well served by his contribution."
Commenting on his appointment to the Board, Moore said, "I am excited to be on the Board and have the opportunity to use my experience to help address the challenges facing NBAA and the industry. I will ensure that the many small and mid-size companies in NBAA's Membership continue to have a strong voice on the Board."
