NBAA Announces Two Recipients of 2008 Donald A. Baldwin Sr. Business Aviation Management Scholarship

WASHINGTON, DC, February 27, 2008 -- The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) today announced the first two individuals to receive the Donald A. Baldwin Sr. Business Aviation Management Scholarship.

The scholarship is given annually in coordination with the family of Donald A. Baldwin Sr., and is designed to benefit individuals seeking to become NBAA Certified Aviation Managers (CAMs). Baldwin, an accomplished general aviation pilot, was a member of NBAA's Board of Directors from 1968 to 1971. He also received the NBAA John P. "Jack" Doswell Award in 1992 and the Flight Safety Foundation Business Aviation Meritorious Service Award in 1991.

The recipients of the 2008 Baldwin Scholarship are as follows:
  • Michael S. Hoffner, quality assurance and safety manager at Syncro Aircraft Interiors in Van Nuys, CA, has been approved to take the CAM Exam, and he will use the funds from this scholarship to complete the certification process.
  • Nathaniel Medina, facilities manager at Spirit Aerosystems in Wichita, KS, is responsible for overseeing the equipment maintenance of commercial product support and composite fabrication. A graduate of Webster University with a master's of business, he has been involved with airline security and fixed base operator support, and has a current A&P license.
