NBAA's 19th Annual Schedulers & Dispatchers Conference Breaks Attendance and Exhibitor RecordsReview Conference Highlights at NBAA's Online S&D News Bureau

SAVANNAH, GA, February 1, 2008 – A total of 2,618 people attended this week's National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) 19th Annual Schedulers & Dispatchers (S&D) Conference, a new attendance record, and about a 6 percent increase over the 2007 total, which was 2,471. The four-day event, which closes today, was lauded by Attendees for the high quality of the more than 30 educational sessions and other Conference offerings.
A record-breaking 391 Exhibiting Companies provided side-by-side comparisons of their products and services at the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center, compared to 351 Exhibitors in 2007, an 11 percent gain.
NBAA has made Conference highlights available online for Attendees wishing to further their experience, or for those unable to attend, via the Online S&D News Bureau web site at www.nbaa.org/sdc/2008. Articles, photo galleries, select session presentations and podcast recordings, and Attendee testimonials are available to the public free of charge via this web site.
Following the event, Conference sessions will be available online, using distance-learning technologies via NBAA's On-Demand Education Program. Video recordings of sessions from this year's Conference, accompanied by synchronized PowerPoint slides, will be available on video CD-ROM and streaming video. Both the full set of Conference sessions and special packages titled "International Topics" and "Flight Operations Administration" are available now for advance purchase. The NBAA S&D Conference is hosted annually by the NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers Committee. In addition to supporting the S&D Conference, the Committee provides input to NBAA on issues associated with scheduling and dispatching business aircraft, as well as other issues associated with business aviation service personnel. The Committee is now accepting applications for membership. Individuals interested in contributing to the growth and continuing evolution of the profession are encouraged to apply via the online application at www.nbaa.org/committees.
After the success of this year's Conference, NBAA has high expectations for next year's event. Plans are already underway for the 20th Annual S&D Conference, themed "Honoring Our Heritage: Reaching for New Heights." Plans for the 20th anniversary Conference include:
- The Top Five
Milestones of the scheduler and dispatcher profession.
- Hall of Heritage showcasing 20 years of scheduler memorabilia.
- Scheduler Chronicles, an anthology of scheduler and dispatcher adventures over the years, submitted by Members.
- Pioneer Video featuring interviews with the founding pioneers of the NBAA S&D Conference about the impetus for the first Conference, its
20-year evolution and its direction for the next 20 years.
- NBAA's Schedulers & Dispatchers Outstanding Achievement and Leadership Award will be given for the first time. Announced this week during the Conference, this new award will recognize an outstanding individual whose contributions through expertise, leadership and service honor the profession.
