NBAA Announces New Scholarship to Benefit Michigan Students

Washington, DC, February 4, 2004 - The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), in conjunction with corporate sponsor Avfuel Corporation, will offer the Avfuel Michigan Business Aviation Scholarship to benefit a student pursuing an aviation degree at an eligible Michigan college or university. One $500 award will be granted annually.

This scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate or graduate student who is officially enrolled in an aviation-related program at any of the following Michigan schools: Andrews University, Eastern Michigan University, Lansing Community College, Northwestern Michigan College and Western Michigan University. The award will be made to a U.S. citizen without regard to sex, race, religion, or national origin.

To be eligible for the 2004 Avfuel Michigan Business Aviation Scholarship, the applicant must be currently enrolled in an aviation-related program as a graduate student or undergraduate sophomore, junior or senior, with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale. Proof of enrollment must be provided prior to distribution of the award, and application forms must be accompanied by:
  • An official transcript
  • A 250-word, typed, double-spaced essay describing the applicant's interest in and goals for a career in the business aviation industry
  • A letter of recommendation from a faculty member
  • A resume
