NBAA Announces Winner of 2000 Doswell Award
Washington, DC, May 31, 2000 - The Board of Directors of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) has selected Rodney K. Kauber as the recipient of the 2000 NBAA John P. "Jack" Doswell Award. The Doswell Award is granted for lifelong individual achievement on behalf of and in support of the aims, goals and objectives of business aviation. The NBAA Meritorious Service to Aviation Award will not be given this year.
Rodney K. Kauber
Rodney Kauber has devoted most of his career to furthering professional growth in corporate aviation management.
Born in 1936 in Ashville, OH, Kauber graduated from Miami University of Ohio with a B.S. degree in education/naval science. He had a distinguished career in the Navy, including combat service in Vietnam, before entering civilian life in 1979 with the founding of his company, Energy Control Consultants. He also worked in positions as chief pilot for Meredith Air Inc. and line pilot for People’s Express Airlines before being named bureau chief of air operations for the State of Illinois in 1985.
Kauber worked as aviation manager and chief pilot for Mutual of Omaha from 1988 until his recent retirement, and he remains active on NBAA’s Corporate Aviation Management Committee.
Rod Kauber is a dynamic leader who has benefited NBAA Members through his involvement with the Association’s Professional Development Program. He continues to be instrumental in developing and supporting this educational initiative, which enables flight department personnel to develop the skills necessary to become business aviation leaders.
The Doswell Award will be presented on Thursday, October 12 at the NBAA Awards Banquet during the NBAA 53rd Annual Meeting & Convention, October 10 to 12, 2000, in New Orleans.
