On-Demand Access to Safety Resources

NBAA is making it easier than ever for Members to attend “virtually” the Association’s information-packed events with NBAA On-Demand Education, which offers distance-learning technologies, such as Internet-based streaming video, video CD-ROM or audio feeds through podcasts on the NBAA web site.

“It’s impossible for all of our Members, especially NBAA’s single-pilot operators and Member companies with small flight departments, to attend every event taking place during the year,” said NBAA’s Jo Damato, director, operations & educational development. “So, NBAA is rapidly building a library of event recordings and other informative resources that Members can access at their convenience.”

The latest addition to NBAA’s On-Demand offerings is the 53rd Annual Corporate Aviation Safety Seminar (CASS), co-hosted by NBAA and Flight Safety Foundation in April. The CASS was initiated in 1955 to provide a forum for discussion and review of safety matters that are the focus of the business aviation community.

“Safety information is a top priority for new distribution channels because knowledge and equipment changes so quickly,” Damato added. “What you might put into your pocket on April 28 when you’re sitting at a seminar can quickly become dated. With NBAA’s On-Demand Education tools, Members don’t have to wait for a major Association event to have access to the very latest information.”

Available recordings cover topics that focus on runway safety, smoke and fire risk mitigation, implementing a safety management system, airport wildlife hazards, threat and error management and others. The proceedings can be purchased and viewed either as streaming video or via CD-ROM.
