NBAA Annual Meeting & Convention Gets Better Every Year

On the heels of a record-setting 60th anniversary Annual Meeting & Convention in 2007, NBAA continues its tradition of providing its Members with the world’s largest purely civil aviation trade show at the 61st Annual Meeting & Convention (NBAA2008) in Orlando, Florida.

NBAA2008 will take place at Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) from Monday, October 6 through Wednesday, October 8 – a departure from the traditional Tuesday-through-Thursday schedule.

The event is expected to draw more than 30,000 Attendees from around the world and feature more than 1,000 Exhibitors. With over one million square feet of exhibit space, the spectacular north and south halls of the OCCC will accommodate NBAA2008 indoor exhibits and over 100 Information and Maintenance & Operations Sessions.

Orlando Executive Airport (ORL), one of the preeminent general aviation airports in the country, will provide space for the NBAA2008 static display, where Attendees can view over 100 state-of-the-art aircraft.

And, given the increasingly international nature of business aviation, the airport now has Customs services available right on the field, making it more convenient than ever for international Attendees to fly their aircraft directly to the event.

An event ranked eighth among U.S. trade shows, according to Tradeshow Week 200 magazine, last year’s Convention broke all records and marked 60 years of NBAA’s long-standing commitment to the business aviation community.

NBAA2008 will build upon that success with the industry’s premier event that brings thousands of people together for marketing, networking and staying up-to-date on the challenges and trends affecting the business aviation community, both in the U.S. and around the world.

Program Schedule Is Now Online

The agenda for NBAA2008 is now online at www.nbaa.org/2008, so Attendees can get a head start on planning for what is to come in October.

“ NBAA2008 will take place from Monday, October 6 through Wednesday, October 8 – a departure from the traditional Tuesday-through-Thursday schedule. ”

As in years past, NBAA2008 will feature an Opening General Session (OGS) that includes leaders from industry and government. International Civil Aviation Organization President Roberto Kobeh González, recognized for his life-long contributions to civil aviation in Central America, will share his unique perspective during a keynote address on Monday, October 6, at 8:30 a.m.

Additionally, the OGS will feature the well known political couple James Carville and Mary Matalin, who will bring their unique brand of commentary and humor to the session, marking the duo’s second appearance at an NBAA Annual Meeting & Convention.

Immediately following the OGS, Information Sessions will begin, offering something for business aviation professionals in every segment of the industry. Topics will include the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations, very light jets, the future of aviation maintenance, environmental issues impacting business aviation, operational control for Part 91 and Part 135, emergency response planning and more.
