News & Announcements
NBAA's Advocacy Efforts Continue in Washington and Across the U.S.
Business aviation plays a vital role in the nation's economic well-being. No Plane No Gain, an advocacy initiative sponsored by NBAA and the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA), educates the public on the importance of business aviation to communities, companies and citizens across the U.S. Since its launch on February 17, the campaign's messaging has been focused on the importance of business aviation in creating more than a million jobs, serving as a lifeline for over 100 communities that have lost some or all airline service in the past year, providing an invaluable productivity and efficiency tool for businesses of all sizes and delivering emergency relief in times of crisis. EBACE Shows Value of Business Aviation in Challenging Times
Attend the 9th Annual European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE2009) from May 12 to 14 in Geneva, Switzerland, and find out how business aviation is the right tool for challenging times. Last year, Attendees represented 91 countries from around the globe, and 37 of the 50 United States. These representatives, from countries as far away as Bhutan and Tanzania, and as familiar as the United Kingdom and Belgium, recognize the value that business aviation offers their economies and the benefits it provides to citizens' quality of life. This year's EBACE participants will meet face to face with colleagues, customers and vendors from around the world – all in one place, all at one time, providing great efficiencies and savings for their companies. At EBACE, Study Results to Confirm Business Aviation's Positive Impact on European Economy
One of the highlights of next month's EBACE will be a session announcing the findings of a recent PricewaterhouseCoopers study, commissioned by the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA), on the economic value of business aviation to the European economy. Industry support for the show is high, with most 2008 Exhibitors returning in same or larger booth spaces. Press Conference space has nearly sold out, and Education Sessions will focus on issues of importance to companies operating in Europe, including the changing European operating environment, safety management systems, security requirements, airport and transatlantic access issues, EASA OPS rules, new cockpit avionics, very light jets and emergency response planning. Respected Experts, Latest Information to Be at European Safety Standdown
Planning is well underway for a highly valuable European Safety Standdown, produced by Bombardier in partnership with NBAA and EBAA, and to be held on May 11 in conjunction with EBACE2009. This annual event focuses on reducing the risk of human errors – the underlying cause of most accidents – by combining skill-based training with knowledge-based training. Several aviation safety experts are slated to participate, including Tony Kern of Convergent Performance, Sean Roberts of the National Test Pilot School, Mark Rosekind of Alertness Solutions and author and aerospace analyst John Nance. Future EBACE Dates Secured Through 2015
NBAA and EBAA are pleased to announce that dates for the European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition have been confirmed through 2015 at Geneva PALEXPO in Geneva, Switzerland. "Year after year, EBACE gives Attendees the tools needed to help their businesses grow, and to help Exhibitors stay in front of their customers," said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. This Month's Maintenance Management Conference Had Record Number of Exhibitors
Earlier this month in New Orleans, LA, NBAA's 24th Annual Maintenance Management Conference (MMC), hosted 67 Exhibitors, a new record in comparison to last year's total, which was 63. Several hundred maintenance managers and technicians formed an avid audience for sessions on technology trends, operational hot topics, regulatory issues and professional development. This year's event was designed to help Attendees address change in their flight operations and adapt to the current economic climate. Next year's MMC will be held in April in San Diego. Upcoming Regional Forums: Supporting Companies in St. Paul and Las Vegas
Studies have shown that companies using aircraft for business purposes generate jobs, local investment and economic activity in the towns where they operate. NBAA's Business Aviation Regional Forums are designed to meet the local needs of these businesses by providing a venue for exchanging information about specific airport policies, environmental protocols, safety and security proposals, taxation and other issues. At the same time, these events offer an opportunity to underscore the importance of the industry to local leaders in business and government. Upcoming Regional Forums will be held in St. Paul, MN on June 24 and Las Vegas, NV on September 10. Learn more about exhibiting and sponsorship opportunities at:

NBAA2009 Charity Gala to Benefit Corporate Angel Network
Held in conjunction with NBAA2009, this year's NBAA Charity Gala will be more of a philanthropic event than ever before. Proceeds from the 2009 event, which will again feature Silent and Live Auctions, will benefit Corporate Angel Network, a charitable organization whose mission is to ease the emotional stress, physical discomfort and financial burden of travel for cancer patients by arranging free flights to treatment centers using the empty seats on business aircraft. To ensure that Corporate Angel Network continues to help cancer patients in the current economic climate, NBAA is now soliciting donations for this year's Silent and Live Auctions, such as aviation-themed items of interest.
