NBAA Announces New Event, 'Light Airplane Conference & Exhibition'
NBAA last week announced that it will host a new, three-day industry event, the Light Airplane Conference & Exhibition (LAC&E). NBAA made the announcement during the annual Sun 'n Fun Fly-In, held in Lakeland, FL. The show will serve as the industry's premier event dedicated to operators who use light airplanes to make their businesses more successful. Specifically, LAC&E will focus on business owners and other operators of light jets, turboprops and piston airplanes. "When we ask our Member Companies with light airplanes how NBAA can better serve them, the answer we frequently get is a request for an event specific to their needs and concerns," said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. "We have heard from this important part of our membership, and we're responding with this new event specific to light airplane ownership and operations." ICAO Pres. Roberto Kobeh González to Be Featured Speaker at NBAA2008
NBAA has announced that International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) President Roberto Kobeh González will be a featured speaker at the Opening General Session of NBAA's 61st Annual Meeting & Convention (NBAA2008) in Orlando, FL. An aviation industry veteran, Kobeh has been recognized by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Mexican government and the Central American Corporation of Air Navigation Services for his contributions to the industry. NBAA2008 will take place this year on Monday, October 6 through Wednesday, October 8, instead of the usual Tuesday-to-Thursday schedule, at Orlando's Orange County Convention Center and Orlando Executive Airport (ORL). NBAA Continues Commitment to Philanthropic Organizations
The NBAA Charities Benefit Gala again will be held this year to benefit NBAA Charities, a charitable fund established to provide support to entities using business aircraft for humanitarian efforts. This year's entertainment will feature The Blues Brothers, with Dan Aykroyd and Jim Belushi at the helm. In addition, the Association will hold its 4th Annual NBAA Charities Auctions, lending support to philanthropic organizations, including Angel Flight America, Corporate Angel Network, Veterans AirLift Command and ORBIS. NBAA Maintenance Management Conference Is This Week
NBAA will host its 23rd Annual Maintenance Management Conference (MMC) this week from April 15 to 17 at the Hilton Daytona Beach Ocean Walk Village in Daytona Beach, FL. The MMC, designed for those who own aircraft or oversee day-to-day operational activities, will host a record-setting 60 Exhibitors and over 300 Attendees. The three-day event will feature noteworthy speakers, including officials from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Embry-Riddle and Ohio State University, among others. Last Chance to Update Member Company Record for 2008 Member Directory
The NBAA 2008 Directory of Member Companies, Aircraft & Personnel will be printed soon. In order to include updated information in the printed directory, NBAA Member representatives must make changes to their company's membership record by Friday, April 18. Directory update forms will not be mailed this year. For the first time, Members will update their information online through "My NBAA Profile," NBAA's new online tool that makes it faster and easier for Members to ensure their record is accurate and up-to-date. Changes can be made at any time and will be reflected immediately in the Online Directory. Exhibit at Upcoming NBAA Regional Forum in Las Vegas
NBAA will host its next Business Aviation Regional Forum on April 24 at Henderson Executive Airport (HND) in Las Vegas, NV. The event is a one-day learning and networking experience designed to meet the needs of the regional business aviation community, and to provide an introduction to local business leaders interested in learning more about business aviation. The forum will feature a Static Display of Aircraft and dozens of exhibits, and FAA Air Traffic Control (ATC) management personnel will be available to answer questions on ATC policies and procedures in the Western region. EBACE Is Going Green
Attendees can now register online for the European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE2008), scheduled to take place in Geneva from May 20 to 22. EBACE is the flagship forum for the European business aviation community to find products and services from the world's top vendors. This year, EBACE management continues its commitment to protecting the environment and encourages Exhibitors to follow suit. Annual Safety Seminar Offers Sponsorship Opportunities
NBAA and Flight Safety Foundation (FSF) will co-host the upcoming 53rd Annual Corporate Aviation Safety Seminar (CASS) from April 29 to May 1 at the Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club in Palm Harbor, FL. Sponsorships Available for NBAA Business Aviation Taxes Forum
To provide owners and operators of business aircraft with knowledge of aviation tax issues, critical for ensuring proper planning and compliance, NBAA will offer the Business Aviation Taxes Forum at the New York Marriott Downtown in New York, NY on May 30. The Forum is designed to help accountants, attorneys, advisors and flight department personnel keep up with the latest tax and legal developments affecting business aviation. Presenters will address a variety of current tax topics at an intermediate-to-advanced level. Discussion topics will include Federal Aviation Regulations, excise taxes, state aviation taxes and various non-business uses of general aviation aircraft.

Registration Now Open for Annual Flight Attendants Conference
Those planning to attend the 13th Annual NBAA Flight Attendants Conference can now register and view the Conference agenda on the Association's web site. The theme for this year's event, which will take place from June 27 to 28 in Tucson, AZ, is "Going Global, New Challenges for Today's Flight Attendants," and areas of cultural diversity, safety awareness and tips for improving service for global passengers will be highlighted. ABACE Dates Announced for 2009
The dates and locale for the 2009 NBAA Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (ABACE2009) have been determined. Hong Kong again will host the annual event, which will take place next year on Wednesday, February 11 and Thursday, February 12. Indoor exhibits will be located at the Asia World Expo, with a Static Display of Aircraft at Hong Kong Business Aviation Centre. This year's event was an enormous success, with a total of 1,131 people and 29 Exhibitors in attendance, and numerous sessions featuring industry experts discussing airspace and regulatory issues for operating in the Asian region.
