ABACE Forum in Hong Kong Was a Success
The ABACE Forum held earlier this week in Hong Kong was an enormous success, with a total of 1,131 people and 29 Exhibitors in attendance. The one-day event, which was held on Thursday, February 14, featured 14 aircraft on Static Display at Hong Kong International Airport and exhibit space at the nearby Hong Kong Business Aviation Centre. Information Sessions featured industry experts discussing airspace and regulatory issues for operating in the Asian region and the challenges and opportunities for establishing business aviation operations in the region.

Corporate Aviation Management Scholarship Recipients Announced
NBAA has announced that four individuals have been selected by the Association's Corporate Aviation Management Committee as recipients of the 2008 Corporate Aviation Management (CAM) Scholarship. Each scholarship includes a value equivalent to $1,600 to cover expenses associated with attendance at NBAA's 2008 Leadership Conference, taking place on February 27 and 28 in San Antonio, TX. Attendance at this Conference promotes the professional development and leadership skills of individuals seeking careers in flight department management. Exhibit at Next NBAA Regional Forum in San Antonio
NBAA will host its next Regional Forum on March 27 at San Antonio International Airport (SAT) in San Antonio, TX. The event is a one-day learning and networking experience designed to meet the needs of the regional business aviation community, and to provide an introduction to local business leaders interested in learning more about business aviation. The forum will feature a Static Display of Aircraft and dozens of exhibits, and the Federal Aviation Administration's Air Traffic Control (ATC) management personnel will be available to answer questions on ATC policies and procedures in the Southwest region. S&D Conference Is a Record-Breaker; Review Highlights at Online S&D News Bureau
A record 2,618 people attended the NBAA 19th Annual Schedulers & Dispatchers (S&D) Conference, a new attendance record, and about a 6 percent increase over the 2007 total, which was 2,471. The four-day event was lauded by Attendees for the high quality of the more than 30 educational sessions and other Conference offerings. Additionally, a record-breaking 391 Exhibiting Companies provided side-by-side comparisons of their products and services at the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center, compared to 351 Exhibitors in 2007, an 11 percent gain. Recipients of 2008 Schedulers & Dispatchers Scholarship Announced
NBAA and its Schedulers & Dispatchers Committee awarded $40,000 in scholarship funds to eight individuals seeking to advance their aviation careers through continuing education. Sponsors ExxonMobil and the Avitats, Signature Flight Support, Universal Weather and Aviation Inc., Chevron Global Aviation, Atlantic Aviation, Air BP Aviation Services, Jeppesen DataPlan and AC-U-KWIK each contributed $5,000 to the 2008 NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers Scholarship. Additionally, as the recipient of the 2008 NBAA Shell Canada Schedulers & Dispatchers Scholarship, Canadian resident Julie Halbauer of R.C.M.P. Air Services received a total of $5,000. S&D Training Scholarship Recipients Also Announced
NBAA and its Schedulers & Dispatchers (S&D) Committee also recognized the six recipients of the Schedulers & Dispatchers Training Scholarship at the NBAA 19th Annual S&D Conference. These training awards, given in conjunction with sponsors Airline Ground Schools, CornerStone Strategies LLC, FlightSafety International and MedAire, Inc., promote the career development of current and aspiring schedulers and dispatchers. 2008 Convention Follows New, Monday-to-Wednesday Schedule
NBAA's 61st Annual Meeting & Convention (NBAA2008) will take place this year on Monday, October 6 through Wednesday, October 8 – instead of the usual Tuesday-to-Thursday schedule – at Orlando's Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) and Orlando Executive Airport (ORL), which now has Customs available right on the field. With over one million square feet of exhibit space, the spectacular north and south halls of the OCCC will accommodate NBAA2008 indoor exhibits and Information Sessions. Orlando Executive Airport once again will provide space for the NBAA2008 Static Display, where Attendees can view over 100 state-of-the-art aircraft. Live and Silent Auctions at NBAA2008 Will Benefit NBAA Charities
The Association will hold its 4th Annual NBAA Charities Auctions during the 61st Annual Meeting & Convention in Orlando, FL in October. Both the Live and Silent Auctions support NBAA Charities, a charitable fund established to provide support to entities using business aircraft for humanitarian efforts. Don't Miss NBAA Regulatory & Operational Hot Topics Forum
On February 22, NBAA will host a Regulatory & Operational Hot Topics Forum in Fort Lauderdale, FL at the Gallery One Hotel. This interactive forum is designed to provide business aviation professionals with a basis for understanding and addressing some of the most important issues facing business aircraft operators today such as employment, security, aviation insurance, air charter brokers and international operations. Stephen Covey to Provide Trust-Building Tools at NBAA Leadership Conference
The Association's Corporate Aviation Management Committee will host the NBAA Leadership Conference in San Antonio, TX from February 27 to 28. The event will bring together industry peers for a highly interactive program offering practical and proven insights on effective leadership and management. Featured keynote speaker Stephen M.R. Covey, sponsored by Gulfstream, will give the presentation "Leadership at the Speed of Trust," which will provide trust-building tools for organizations. Secure Exhibit Space, Sponsorships for 2008 MMC
NBAA's Maintenance Management Conference (MMC) will be held this year from April 15 to 17, in Daytona Beach, FL. The three-day Conference is business aviation's only event dedicated to aircraft maintenance and technical operations management. Conference Attendees are business aviation professionals with management responsibilities and purchasing authority for aircraft maintenance, technical operations and hangar facilities compliance. The 8th Annual European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE2008) will return to Geneva PALEXPO and Geneva International Airport this year from May 20 to 22. Registration Now Open for Safety Standdown Europe
Registrations are now being accepted for the 2008 Safety Standdown Europe scheduled for Monday, May 19, immediately preceding EBACE2008 in Geneva, Switzerland.
