The attention of the global rotorcraft community will be on Anaheim, CA next week, as Helicopter Association International (HAI) presents its annual Heli-Expo convention from Feb. 24 to 27. As in years past, NBAA staff will be on hand throughout the show to meet with Members and attendees to discuss matters affecting the business aviation and rotorcraft industry.

“We obviously like to support our association counterparts in the industry at their events, and in that regard, Heli-Expo has been an important forum to NBAA for years,” said Aimee Kaufman, NBAA director of marketing. “But, equally important, the HAI show offers a NBAA valuable opportunity for to interact with Members utilizing helicopters to support their business; we also want to hear from others who may be unfamiliar with the services offered by NBAA that may be of particular benefit to rotorcraft operators.”

For example, NBAA’s small aircraft exemption provides Members with a full range of economic and operational options traditionally reserved for large aircraft operations. NBAA also offers valuable tax resources for Members, details on FAA regulations on cost reimbursement, guidelines on the tax benefits of using a helicopter for business trips and an overview on the non-business use of a business aircraft.

“It really doesn’t matter what you fly,” Kaufman added. “If you operate an aircraft for business, NBAA offers a tremendous wealth of information and opportunities for you.”

As an added incentive, those interested in joining NBAA may stop by booth No. 4200 throughout Heli-Expo to take advantage of an exclusive 20 percent discount off their first-year membership.

In addition to the Association’s presence on the show floor, NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen is scheduled to participate in the General Aviation Association CEO Town Hall on Feb. 26. The interactive forum offers leaders of the top general aviation advocacy groups the opportunity to speak with industry stakeholders about ongoing matters affecting the aviation community.

Additionally, NBAA will make complimentary copies of its magazine, Business Aviation Insider, available at two locations on-site at Heli-Expo – both at NBAA’s booth 4200 and at the publication bins. The issue contains a special content section titled “Corporate Helicopters,” devoted to showing the benefits of a mixed fleet with both fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters.

NBAA’s participation in Heli-Expo is part of an overall plan to be visible at major industry gatherings. The Association frequently participates in events held by other aviation groups, including the presence of NBAA’s “big white tent” along the flight line at the Experimental Aircraft Association’s annual AirVenture gathering every summer in Oshkosh, WI. NBAA also collaborates regularly with the General Aviation Manufacturers Association in events promoting general aviation, including business aviation, as part of its co-sponsorship of the No Plane No Gain advocacy program.
