Women aviation professionals from around the world are invited to attend an International Aviation Womens Association (IAWA) reception hosted by NBAA on May 22 in Geneva, Switzerland, and held in conjunction with the 2013 European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE2013).

IAWA Connect events – informal gatherings held at major aviation forums around the globe – are open to IAWA members and non-members alike. The Geneva IAWA Connect event will be held at NBAA’s booth No. 2011, in Hall 5 on the EBACE2013 exhibit floor.

“I wish to thank NBAA for hosting this event,” said IAWA President Mylène Scholnick. “Our Connect in Geneva will offer a wonderful opportunity for IAWA Members from across Europe and around the world to meet, socialize and network with their peers.

“Our organization holds Connect receptions at some of the world’s largest aviation gatherings, and our decision to include a reception at EBACE2013 reinforces its standing as a world-class aviation event,” Scholnick added.

IAWA represents women who hold executive positions across the aviation and aerospace industry, and provides a networking platform for senior women to promote advancement in leadership, and encourage younger women to remain in and develop their careers in aviation. The Geneva Connect follows a successful reception last month at the 2013 Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (ABACE2013), and IAWA has scheduled additional Connect meetings at events such as the upcoming Paris Air Show.

NBAA Senior Vice President, Government Affairs Lisa Piccione – who is also an IAWA board member – said the Connect event at EBACE offers the opportunity for NBAA Members to take a break from their busy show schedules and connect with other women aviation professionals.

“I encourage all women attending EBACE to stop by the NBAA booth for the Connect, and mix and mingle with other professionals in the European and international aviation community,” she said.

The Geneva Connect will take place between 11 a.m. and noon, and those interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP to http://iawa.org/rsvp.
