Working alongside major Exhibitors to prepare for NBAA’s 64th Annual Meeting & Convention (NBAA2011), the Association’s convention staff conducted a site visit in Las Vegas, NV last month. The Exhibitors and NBAA staff toured the Las Vegas Convention Center and Henderson Executive Airport (HND), where the Static Display of Aircraft well be held.

“NBAA hasn’t held its Convention in the Western U.S. since 2004,” said Kathleen Blouin, senior vice president, conventions, seminars & forums, “and so much has changed in Las Vegas that we’re very excited to be back.”

Over the last seven years, local leaders have partnered with NBAA to improve Las Vegas’ infrastructure and facilities to provide the best setting possible for NBAA’s Convention – now the fourth-largest trade show in the United States. Developers have built new hotels, restaurants and shops, and aviation authorities have upgraded Henderson Executive Airport with a state-of-the-art terminal and excellent layout for the Static Display.

The City of Henderson, the Clark County Department of Aviation, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and the Henderson FBO have worked closely with NBAA to make these expansions possible, including the unique ability to move airplanes from McCarran International Airport (LAS) to the Las Vegas Convention Center for display inside at exhibit booths or in the parking lot in front of the building.

“Our local partners in Las Vegas have really gone the extra mile,” said Blouin, “not just to make NBAA2011 the best it can be, but to make each Exhibitor’s experience the best it can be.”

At Henderson Executive, the aircraft Exhibitors were greeted by airport manager Dennis Anderson, who had visited the NBAA2010 State Display in Atlanta to prepare for hosting nearly about 100 airplanes at this year’s Convention.

The Exhibitors’ tour of the Las Vegas Convention Center highlighted the North and Central exhibit halls reserved for NBAA2011, the myriad of sponsorship opportunities available, concessions and restaurants, loading docks, shuttle bus drop-off areas and more. The convention center staff and vendors were on hand throughout the tour to answer Exhibitors’ questions about the facilities and services available.
