Schedulers and licensed dispatchers are often referred to as the “hub” of the aircraft operation – integral to the overall safety and success of the scheduled mission. In this 24/7 environment, can they always be fit for duty? Is it possible to ever shut down or disconnect, especially if it’s a one-person operation? This session will look at tools for individuals and corporate flight operations to respond to immediate fatigue issues and examine what can be done to mitigate risk in a 24/7/365 safety culture environment.
Navigating South America/Maneuvering Mexico

These two 45-minute sessions will cover what you need to know to travel to and from South America and Mexico. The session will review cabotage laws, permit and handling requirements, local safety, security and health concerns, and region-specific processes, such as entering Mexico from the southern latitudes. Captain Waiz founded Dreams Soar, Inc. as a non-profit organization with the mission to empower the next generation to become passionate about both aviation and also Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) careers. We’re proud to welcome Captain Waiz back to the Conference. At SDC2017, Captain Waiz talked about her flight planning to visit 18 countries on five continents and shared her hopes for Dreams Soar’s success. Grand Prize Luncheon

Attendees are invited to participate in Friday’s “Grand Prize Luncheon.” During the conference exhibit hours, participating exhibitors (those who have donated a prize or gift) collect business cards from attendees when they visit their booth. Prior to this luncheon, participating exhibitors will select four business cards – one as the winner and three extra in the event the original winner is not present at the luncheon or has already won another prize. Conference rules require that winners be present to win. As attendees finish lunch, participating companies will assemble in alphabetical order at the stage. One representative from each company will announce their winner at the podium. Once the winner is identified, the attendee will meet the company representative off the stage to claim their prize. All paid attendees and all exhibitors are eligible to participate in the prize drawings. Attendees may win only one prize during the grand prize luncheon. Attendees may not refuse a gift in order to wait to see if they win another prize.
