Key Takeaways for the 2018 Leadership Conference Participants

The 2018 Leadership Conference focuses on “Resiliency: Thriving Through Change.” As we see daily in business aviation, change is the norm. Facing change and thriving through it marks a leader ready to move in and take charge. This kind of resilience is a core principle of success in business aviation. Industry leaders who leave a mark have found ways to deal with change and bring their people to a new, higher level of performance. This year’s lineup of speakers have lived it and are here to share with attendees their successes. Coming away from this conference, you should feel empowered to overcome adversity and climb the mountain of success.

Unless otherwise noted, all events take place at the Loews, Coronado Island in San Diego, CA.

Brad Montgomery, Motivational Speaker, Author, Humorist

This year’s Leadership Conference will open with an interactive presentation filled with sound, music and visuals to ignite attendees and show that happiness can be used as a tool to improve lives and jobs. Motivational speaker Brad Montgomery is a very funny fellow with some very deep thoughts about change management. He understands that the real problems behind change are fear and uncertainty. People don’t like change because “Doing things the way we used to do them” is more comfortable than learning the new systems, processes and thought-patterns necessary for success and long-term sustainability.

The Resilient Spirit
Eileen McDargh, Founder and CEO, The Resiliency Group

Resiliency! Not the dictionary definition of bouncing “back,” but rather the proactive result of growing through challenge AS WELL AS opportunity. It is about thinking differently, learning to ask critical questions, and most importantly, discovering how to listen deeply. It is not about pain but possibility. It is not about adversity but advantage. Resiliency can be learned, cultivated, and practiced. And it can be done with vision, foresight, and joy.

Return on Resilience: Bouncing Back is Just the Beginning
Warren Macdonald, Mountain Climber, Author & Leadership Consultant

If there is one certainty, in business and in life, it is that we all will face challenges; that we all will, at some point, be faced with a seemingly insurmountable obstacle or obstacles. When that happens, our greatest ally is found in our ability to endure; to adapt. When that happens, it pays to have banked some resilience. This keynote focuses on what we can do to prepare for our challenges in advance, how we can fortify ourselves against the curveballs and roadblocks before they happen by practicing resilience. You will leave this presentation with an understanding of how resilience is banked and is transferable across all areas of our lives and gain specific tools and techniques to build resilience. An author, acclaimed filmmaker and motivational speaker, Warren will inspire you with his stories and message on resilience and round out an incredible two days.
