California Sales and Use Tax Exemptions

Attendees will learn about methods to minimize sales and use tax on any aircraft that is stored, used, or registered inside the state of California. During this session participants will learn how to:

  • Utilize the major exemptions such as common carrier, commercial interstate, occasional sale and resale
  • Understand recent changes to California tax policy that may impact exemptions
  • Structure aircraft transactions to take advantage of the available California exemptions

Maintaining a Customer Service Culture in Tough Times

Presented by Dr. Mario Martinez, ServiceElements

Customer service is a culture. Participants will hear examples based on ServiceElements work, of how these cultures apply to flight departments and other business aviation organizations. During this session participants will learn how to:

  • Understand the four customer service cultures that exist in any organization
  • Identify where an organization’s service culture currently resides
  • Utilize a service culture tool to enhance customer service within their own organizations

Aviation stressors, such as pop-up trips, long hours, high stress, noise, human factors, etc. all can result in fatigue-induced errors. Knowing what to watch for, in yourself and others, can head off catastrophe. During this session participants will learn how to:

  • Understand the effects of fatigue on flight operations
  • Minimize mistakes that may occur because of fatigue
  • Understand the causes of fatigue so that actions can be taken to prevent mistakes
