EBACE2012 to Feature Expanded Static Aircraft Display
May 7, 2012
The Static Display of Aircraft at the upcoming 2012 European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE2012) will be bigger than ever this year, showcasing comprehensive offerings from the major airframe manufacturers and non-OEM exhibitors.
“While our airplane count is down [from 2011], the average size of the aircraft has grown, which means fewer aircraft, and the amount of space that we have on the static display actually is up,” says Joe Hart, NBAA’s senior manager of regional forums and static displays.
Hart had confirmed 60 aircraft from 26 exhibitors as of May 7, but he notes that number likely will grow to more than 60 aircraft by the time the EBACE2012 starts. The EBACE2011 static display featured 63 aircraft. NBAA negotiated with Geneva International Airport to add more than 4,000 square meters to the static display, for a total area of nearly 40,000 square meters, said Hart.
The static-display expansion will be convenient for visitors, Hart adds. “There’s a little bit of an airport thoroughfare that separates the two spaces, but our Attendees will be able to simply walk between the two.”
EBACE2012, which will be held May 14-16 at Geneva International Airport in Geneva, Switzerland, features not only the latest business aircraft, but also exhibits, educational seminars and maintenance & operations sessions. Jointly hosted each year by NBAA and the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA), EBACE is the premier annual meeting place for the European business aviation community.
