The Business Aviation Safety Summit (BASS), formerly known as the Corporate Aviation Safety Seminar, is the premier annual forum for the discussion and exchange of safety information for business aviation operators. Founded by Flight Safety Foundation (FSF) in 1955 and co-sponsored by NBAA since 1998, the 59th Annual Business Aviation Safety Summit will be held on April 16 and 17, 2014, in San Diego, CA.
Additionally, an open-invitation Safety Roundtable will take place just prior to this year's BASS.
About the Business Aviation Safety Summit
At this annual forum, operators meet with industry leaders, government officials and university researchers for a comprehensive review of business aviation safety issues. Participants find the right blend of technical presentations, informal discussion, personal interaction and exhibits.
Each BASS presentation aims to deliver useful, specific information directly applicable to business aviation operations. In 2014, presenters will examine topics such as:
- Developing aviation talent
- Inflight fire issues
- Influencing safety attitudes and decisions
- Helicopter safety issues
- Maintenance issues
- Corporate FOQA data sharing
- Legal and regulatory issues
- RNP and PBN integration
- Post-accident considerations
- Innovative safety programs in use
- Safety leadership
- Go-around decision making
- Fatigue management in practice
- Flight risk-assessment tools
- Aeromedical issues
- Cabin-safety issues
About the Safety Roundtable
This year, a one-day, open-invitation Safety Roundtable will be held in conjunction with BASS, starting at 8:00 a.m. on April 15. Hosted by regional roundtable members with support from the Flight Safety Foundation (FSF), this event will provide an opportunity for aviation professionals to share safety-related ideas and collaborate on advancing safety best practices. Safety managers and pilots are encouraged to participate in the free event. To participate or request more information, contact Lisa Sasse at firstname.lastname@example.org.
