Don’t Miss These 4 ‘Hidden Gems’ at NBAA-BACE

Oct. 9, 2017

NBAA’s 2017 Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) will feature more than 1,100 exhibitors showcasing the latest and great business aviation has to offer, nearly 100 aircraft on static display, dozens of education sessions and dynamic speakers. But there’s more to the show that attendees won’t want to miss.

“The convention team always tries to further enhance the attendee experience by presenting several ‘hidden gems’ for attendees to find,” said Chris Strong, NBAA’s senior vice president, conventions and membership. “This year, some of these hidden gems will have multiple locations meant to bring them directly to the attendees.”

1. An Interactive, Mobile NBAA70th Anniversary ‘Signing Wall’

NBAA is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year with a new, interactive feature to commemorate the milestone. A large, mobile NBAA70 “signing wall” will be present at various convention locations – including the NBAA booth and registration area – to allow attendees to sign their names, show support for the association’s milestone, and be a part of the occasion, said Dan Hubbard NBAA senior vice president of communications.

“A video monitor on the moveable wall will show the history of NBAA, and we encourage attendees to take a selfie at the wall and share on social media,” he said.

2. An Investment in Industry’s Future With New Offerings for ‘YoPros’

New for 2017 is the NBAA Young Professional (YoPro) Passport Program, which rewards young business aviation professionals for finding and reporting on education sessions, key products or services and sending photos to social media using the hashtag #NBAAYoPro.

“These young professionals are the future of the industry, and we want them out and about at the convention,” said Sierra Grimes, who heads up NBAA’s YoPro initiative. “They will be easy to find with their YoPro badge ribbons. When you see them, walk up and make some new friends to learn more about the next generation of business aviation leaders.”

3. An Even More Dynamic Indoor Aircraft Display

Most NBAA-BACE attendees make a point to visit the outdoor static displays, but one “hidden gem” of the convention is the indoor static display area. New for 2017, the indoor static display will feature dynamic overhead lighting and surround-sound musical accompaniment. The 10 fixed-wing aircraft and one helicopter will be hard to miss.

4. More News, More Highlights, More Ways to Catch NBAA TV

At last year’s NBAA-BACE, the association introduced NBAA TV, which provided show coverage and features about key speakers, industry trends, and other news. This year, NBAA TV will be more visible, with branded viewing screens throughout the exhibit halls, broadcasts into nine area hotels and an increased online presence.

“NBAA TV has been one of our most popular new products, so we want it to be as accessible to as many people as possible – whether on site, on line, or on the TVs in the hotels where our attendees stay,” Strong said.
