NBAA2012 Attendees Can Spend ‘An Evening With Angels’ for a Worthwhile Cause

October 22, 2012

Attendees at NBAA’s 65th Annual Meeting & Convention (NBAA2012) will have the opportunity to enjoy entertainment from a legendary musical group, while also helping support Corporate Angel Network (CAN), whose mission is to provide urgently needed medical transportation for cancer patients using empty seats on business aircraft.

Individual and group tickets are still available for the exclusive “NBAA/CAN Soiree – An Evening With Angels,” to be held Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom of The Peabody Orlando.

"The NBAA/CAN Soiree offers the opportunity for members of the business aviation community to come together in the spirit of unity and philanthropy, in support of an extremely worthwhile cause,” said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen.

In addition to enjoying dinner and a concert by Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Attendees can also participate in both live and silent auctions for unique and valuable items and packages. Proceeds from these auctions will directly support CAN's efforts to provide free flights onboard business aircraft to patients traveling across the country for cancer treatment.

Among the live auction packages available for bid are several notable items of interest for business pilots and flight departments. One package includes two round-trip business-class tickets from New York to Dubai, where the winners will receive a recurrent training session at Emirates-CAE Flight Training (ECFT), one of the world's premier aviation training centers. Another offering is a complete Aircell ATG 5000 equipment package, providing onboard wireless Internet access over the continental United States and parts of Alaska.

"These are items that pilots, businesses and flight departments may already be considering to support their operations, with the additional benefit of supporting a noble effort in the business aviation community,” Bolen said.

A wide range of aviation memorabilia, avionics packages and travel experiences will also be available for bid in the silent auction. All auction items have been donated by companies and individuals in the business aviation industry, in support of Corporate Angel Network. Review the list of auction items.

"These are remarkably generous donations," said CAN Executive Director Peter Fleiss. "They will certainly result in helping more cancer patients receive the best possible treatment for their specific type of cancer, no matter where in the country that may be. These patients have a decidedly better prognosis as a result of our flights."
