Snapshot - WSI

Mark MillerWhen WSI began making plans to attend the NBAA 61st Annual Meeting & Convention (NBAA2008), it knew that this would be the perfect venue to launch its latest product innovation, PilotBrief Mobile. As the most trusted weather decision-support provider in the aviation industry, WSI’s products enable professional pilots and flight departments to stay ahead of changing operational conditions and take positive action to reduce operational impacts. PilotBrief Mobile, unveiled on the first day of NBAA2008, allows pilots to quickly check their routes for changing weather conditions on their mobile phones while waiting for passengers to arrive. Mark Miller, vice president and general manager of WSI, said that even without the PilotBrief Mobile launch, NBAA2008 is a huge event for the Andover, MA-based company. "This is our key market, and whether dealing with flight departments, charter services or fixed base operators, this is the one time every year when we get to come together and see all our customers face-to-face." Miller noted that launching WSI’s new product offerings here helps build their business, inform their customers and deepen those relationships. The global company with 5,500 customers worldwide in 45 different countries, in addition to its aviation platforms, provides weather service and imaging to TV stations and cable networks, including the Weather Channel, CNN and Fox News, among others.
