Business aviation is about to have a new voice in the state of Tennessee. For the first time, an advocacy group is forming to represent the business aviation community in the Volunteer State.
“To the best of our knowledge, there hasn’t been anything like this in the state before,” said Thomas Tate, president of the newly minted Tennessee Business Aviation Association (TNBAA). “We want to educate our government entities about business aviation and its importance to Tennessee.”
Nashville, Memphis, Chattanooga and the Knoxville areas are all hot spots for business aviation activity, said Tate, but interest in TNBAA is coming from all across Tennessee.
Greg Voos, NBAA’s Southeast regional representative, has been working with Tate and others on the TNBAA board to get the new advocacy group off the ground.
“Tennessee is a long state with multiple time zones, and we commend those forming TNBAA for their commitment to representing the entire state and to holding events in multiple locations,” said Voos. “We also want to recognize the leadership of the Georgia Business Aviation Association (GBAA) for their willingness to help mentor the new Tennessee organization.”
