Updated July 25, 2013

A significant runway rehabilitation project will commence this month at Newburgh/Stewart International Airport (SWF), and last through May of 2015. The rehabilitation will include both runways and several of the taxiways.

The project will focus on Runway 16/34, as well as the taxiway structure on the east end of the field, between July and December of this year. During the project there will be several operational modifications required to manage traffic flow in the aircraft movement areas.

In addition, limitations on the available approaches are expected at times as navigational aids are affected by the project. Operators are encouraged to check NOTAMs for current operational constraints.

Additional details are available in the SWF Runway Rehabilitation Operational Plan and Runway Availability Matrix.
