Washington, DC, July 18, 2014 – The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) announced today that Andrew C. Taylor, executive chairman of Enterprise Holdings, and an advocate for business aviation, will be a featured speaker for the Opening General Session of the 2014 NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA2014), to be held from Oct. 21 to 23, 2014 in Orlando, FL. Owned by the Taylor family, Enterprise Holdings is the world’s largest car rental company, operating the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car brands.
“We are pleased that Andrew Taylor will share his perspectives on how business aviation has supported the growth of his company, and helped it be more efficient, productive and successful in a highly competitive global marketplace,” said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen.
Taylor joined the family business more than 50 years ago and became chief executive officer in 1991. He added the title of chairman in 2001, and in June 2013 he transitioned to the position of executive chairman. Enterprise Holdings and its affiliated businesses operated 1.4 million vehicles worldwide in fiscal year 2013, with $16.4 billion in annual revenue.
Enterprise Holdings encompasses thousands of offices and locations across the globe. That makes business aviation an essential part of the company’s ability to manage its operations, a fact that Taylor notes as one of the industry spokespeople featured in Top Ten, an industry-advocacy publication produced for the No Plane No Gain campaign, which is jointly sponsored by NBAA and the General Aviation Manufacturers Association. The Top Ten publication features testimonials from 10 highly respected CEOs about the central role of business aviation in their companies’ success.
“Using business aircraft allows us to visit several cities in a single day, and that’s just not possible with any other mode of transportation,” Taylor notes in the Top Ten booklet, and in similar messages included in print and online media advertisements for the campaign.
Taylor is well qualified to speak to the value of aviation, given its role not only in his company’s success, but in his personal and family history. Taylor’s father, Jack, was a Naval aviator who flew an F6F Hellcat from the deck of the World War II ship USS Enterprise, the name Jack Taylor would bestow on the company he founded.
“Enterprise Holdings is recognized around the world as a company that stands for excellence, and we are delighted that its chairman, a business aviation champion, will be with us for this year’s convention,” Bolen said.
As the world's largest and most important event for the business aviation community, NBAA2014 offers attendees an unprecedented opportunity to learn about the latest issues affecting the industry. Attendees will have the opportunity to review the latest in business aviation products, technology and services, participate in more than 100 education and maintenance and operations (M&O) sessions, and compare the industry's most innovative aircraft on static display.
