SAN ANTONIO, TX, January 26, 2006 – The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) and its Schedulers & Dispatchers Committee today granted $5,000 in scholarship funds to an individual seeking to advance her aviation career through continuing education. Shell Aviation Canada was the sole sponsor for this scholarship specifically for Canadian schedulers and dispatchers.

The 2006 NBAA Canadian Schedulers & Dispatchers Scholarship recipient is:
  • Tessy Neitsch, Calgary, Alberta, Canada – To keep her communication, leadership and service skills current, Neitsch will use her scholarship to attend the 2006 NBAA International Operators Conference in Tampa, FL, the 2006 NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers Conference in San Antonio, and NBAA Professional Development Program Courses as available.
This recipient and nine other Schedulers & Dispatchers Scholarship recipients were announced during the Opening General Session of NBAA's 17th Annual Schedulers & Dispatchers Conference, held this week in San Antonio, TX. Applications for the 2007 NBAA Canadian Schedulers & Dispatchers Scholarship will be available in the summer of 2006.

Since 1997, more than $200,000 has been awarded to schedulers and dispatchers through this program. In 2005, the program was expanded to provide scholarships specifically for Canadian schedulers and dispatchers.

In addition to its monetary scholarships, NBAA's Schedulers & Dispatchers Committee offers separate but related awards through the Schedulers & Dispatchers Training Scholarship Program. These training awards, which were first offered in 2004, offer opportunities for recipients to have access to hands-on teaching initiatives. Seven training award recipients were announced at NBAA's 17th Annual Schedulers & Dispatchers Conference.
