Business aviation is often used to support missions that help people and communities in crisis. Business airplanes transport donated organs and blood; they fly patients and trauma victims to medical facilities for treatment; they deliver humanitarian assistance to areas struck by natural disasters; and they help connect combat veterans with their families. No Plane No Gain Report
The No Plane No Gain advocacy campaign is jointly sponsored by the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) and the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA). Since its launch, this program has been educating policymakers and opinion leaders about the importance of business aviation to citizens, companies and communities across the U.S.
The campaign remains focused on communicating the importance of business aviation in creating more than a million jobs, serving as a lifeline for communities, providing an invaluable productivity and efficiency tool for businesses of all sizes and delivering emergency relief in times of crisis.
The following are among the highlights from the campaign and the industry.

Media Initiatives Continue
When CNN camera crews recently showed up at the Experimental Aircraft Association's 2010 Airventure in Oshkosh, WI, NBAA's Ed Bolen and several other industry leaders were on hand to highlight the value of business aviation. In the resulting story, which aired last week, Bolen said business aircraft are often used by companies "trying to visit three, four sites in the same day, and that can't be done with other modes of transportation." Cessna CEO Jack Pelton said of today's fuel-efficient light business aircraft: "It is an office in the sky. This is not a luxury - it's really a business tool." Developing Resources For Industry Advocacy
As No Plane No Gain supporters know, the advocacy campaign has developed a host of resources for people in the business aviation community to use to show how business aircraft provide a host of benefits. Among those resources is a study by NEXA Advisors, which illustrates how companies in the Fortune 500 that use business airplanes outperform those that do not. Another study by NEXA Advisors is now underway, which will examine the value of business aviation to small- to medium-sized companies. Participate in a short online survey that will support the study.
The study is expected to be released later this year; in the meantime, don't forget the variety of advocacy resources already available on the No Plane No Gain web site, including:
- Surveys: GAMA and NBAA commissioned a survey by The Harris Group, which show the true face of business aviation.
- An Online E-Valuation Toolkit: NBAA and GAMA have developed an Online E-Valuation Toolkit, which helps people in flight operations measure and communicate about the value of an airplane to a company's overall business objectives. Five video tutorials and a variety of downloadable resources detail ways to present your information to your company peers, top management, and external audiences including the media. Access the Toolkit.
- Grassroots Resources: Individuals and organizations have requested resources to support local grassroots advocacy efforts, and a variety of tools are available to the industry. Want to highlight the value of your local community airport? There's a resource for that. Want to take action on a local legislative proposal that could impact your company's ability to fly? There's a resource for that. Want to educate local elected officials on the safety record for business aviation? There's a resource for that.

Highlighting Business Aviation At Work
Business aircraft are used in a variety of ways, some of which might not occur to most people. Consider Air Ambulance Worldwide, based in Palm Harbor, FL. Its president, Mark Jones, says: "Most people never see us, so they don't know we exist. We don't save business deals at 41,000 feet; we save lives at 41,000 feet."
- Read the full story about Air Ambulance Worldwide, and hear a podcast interview with Jones.
