The business aviation community has a long tradition of good corporate citizenship when it comes to worthwhile local causes. That tradition is again on display as members of the NBAA’s Schedulers & Dispatchers (S&D) Advisory Council make plans for this year’s S&D Conference in Savannah, GA.

The council members are organizing a clothing drive called “Pay It Forward,” and are asking S&D Conference attendees to each bring to the event just one professionally cleaned business outfit that can be donated to Assisting Working Women in Need (AWWIN). The nonprofit is dedicated to ensuring that single, working women become self-sufficient, utilizing existing community resources as a vehicle of hope to transform their lives and ensure a prosperous legacy for themselves and their children.

“There is a tremendous need for contemporary, professional clothing, so job candidates can make a strong impression when they go to interviews,” said Debbi Laux, MedAire’s director of sales operations and chair of the Advisory Council for the S&D Committee. “It’s a simple, yet wonderful way we can make a huge difference in the lives of others.”

“Many of us in business aviation have been blessed over the years and we welcome the opportunity to give a helping hand to others,” said Dolores Johnson, member of the Advisory Council and director of regional sales, Midwest, at Everest Fuel Management.

Both men’s and women’s clothing will be accepted near the entrance of Chatham Ballroom at the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center before the S&D Conference’s Opening General Session on Wednesday, February 9. Monetary donations will also be accepted.

“We’re excited about this opportunity to benefit women and families in Savannah,” said Jo Damato, NBAA Director of Education and Operations. “It’s very easy to pack an extra outfit for the donation, and we’re very happy to sponsor this Pay it Forward drive to help Conference attendees participate. This is a way to help others find success, by literally paying it forward.”

The NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers Conference is an annual educational event that provides timely and valuable information on topics of interest to those responsible for coordinating the use of business aircraft.

Organizers are expecting more than 2,000 Attendees for education sessions, networking and opportunities to visit with more than 350 Exhibitors and product and services providers.
