SDC2020 Keynote Speakers Focus on Resiliency in Uncertain Times

The theme of adaptability took center stage in the opening keynote at the 2020 NBAA Schedulers & Dispatchers Conference (SDC2020), taking place March 10-13 in Charlotte, NC. “Focusing on resiliency, we want to talk about how we can work together to move forward,” said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. As a part of an ongoing strategy to consult with top COVID-19 experts, NBAA welcomed Mayo Clinic pulmonologist Dr. Clayton T. Cowl to SDC2020, as well as Don Chupp, president and CEO, Fireside Partners, a global emergency response firm. Attendees also were inspired by keynote speaker Warren Macdonald – whose life changed dramatically after a backcountry climbing accident. Read more about the SDC2020 opening keynote.

On the eve of SDC2020, 45 students from Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology – a local STEM high school – met at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) to learn about the career possibilities available in business aviation. “For most of my career, I’ve always said to myself, “If I see it, I can be it,” Lowe’s Aviation Chief Pilot Jon-Michael Calhoun told the students. “If you see it, you can be it – all you need is a little spark, and the people you see today are here to help you find your spark.” Read about the Pay-It-Forward education event.
