First-Time Attendees Get Oriented
LONG BEACH, CA, January 14, 2009 –Newcomers were welcomed to the Schedulers & Dispatchers (S&D) Conference on Tuesday evening during a meet-and-greet for first-timers in the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center. The event, which was held from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and sponsored by FlightSafety International, drew a large crowd, as some 80 S&D Conference veteran volunteers, officially known as “Ambassadors,” helped brief people who are attending their first S&D Conference.
NBAA’s S&D Committee plans the Conference with support from the NBAA staff, but the hundreds of volunteers help ensure its success.
“The volunteer group continues to increase every year,” said Scott Rapacki, a member of the S&D Committee’s Ambassador Subcommittee. “It seems that word of mouth has increased the popularity of wanting to be a volunteer.” Those who offered to help this year represented a mix of schedulers and vendors, including several people from overseas.
Any person who attends an NBAA convention, conference, seminar or other program grants permission to NBAA, its employees and agents (collectively "NBAA") to record his or her visual/audio images, including, but not limited to, photographs, digital images, voices, sound or video recordings, audio clips, or accompanying written descriptions, and, without notifying such person, to use his or her name and such images for any purpose of NBAA, including advertisements for NBAA and its programs.
