Safety Standdown Europe

The 4th Annual Safety Standdown Europe will be held on May 2 and 3, 2010, in Geneva, Switzerland, at the Crown Plaza Geneva Hotel, in conjunction with the 10th Annual European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE2010).

Offered by Bombardier in partnership with NBAA and the European Business Aviation Association, the 4th Annual Safety Standdown Europe is a non-commercial effort to improve business aviation safety by combining skill-based training with knowledge-based training.

This seminar is offered free of charge and features subject-matter experts presenting on topics such as crew resource management, professional airmanship, advanced aerodynamics for business aviation and fatigue countermeasures. Safety Standdown is not aircraft- or manufacturer-specific, and the information presented is applicable to any aircraft flown. The foundation of the seminar curriculum is based on Dr. Tony Kern's Airmanship Model.

Why Do We Need This Training?

Human factors, while well understood, are rarely taught. Since eight out of 10 aircraft accidents are caused by human failure, not equipment failure, Safety Standdown provides critical information and training on topics directly related to human performance. Additionally, this seminar provides participants with tools to mitigate risk, improve flight department procedures and processes, and analyze their own performance and professionalism.
