- Future Challenges & the Value of Aviation Automation: The Increasingly Vital Role of Software in Aviation Maintenance
Presented by Jack Demeis, Continuum Applied Technology, Inc. (CORRIDOR Software)
Aviation service providers are continuously challenged to improve efficiency and lower costs, while maintaining and even improving upon high standards already achieved in safety, compliance and levels of service. Automation that addresses these requirements is key. An effective software package will streamline day-to-day operating processes and provide up-to-the-second operations data that are critical for effectively managing the business and improving customer service levels. Management must have a clear and accurate understanding of every aspect of their business – revenue, costs, productivity, inventory and compliance – as it occurs. Automation that provides this information allows for accurate analysis, projections and, ultimately, decisions that will strengthen aviation service providers into the future.

- Successful Transition to Leaders
Presented by J.D. McHenry, Global Jet Services
Strong leadership promotes vision, creativity and change for better performance within an organization. A leader must delegate authority to others, encourage participation and rely on personal power to manage subordinates and the people around them. The democratic leadership style must be practiced in today’s aviation industry to promote a positive culture, motivation, safety and a result oriented environment. Aviation technicians must transition from being technicians to highly skilled professional leaders and managers. The only way to accomplish this is by learning new innovative ways to manage everyone around them and to not solely rely on their technical skills.
