Avionics, Mandates & Implementations

Location: Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel and Marina

Session Coordinators: Carey Miller, Universal Avionics Systems and Sean Sheldon, Gulfstream

With air traffic increasing each year around the world, in both domestic and oceanic airspace, it is increasingly necessary for aircraft to operate to tighter navigational specifications. These are the drivers behind NextGen in the US and SESAR in the EU. But it is also being adopted in Canada, the NAT, PAC and Gulf and elsewhere, with their attendant avionics and training requirements. These technologies such as ADS-C, CPDLC, ADS-B, Link 2000+ and others have already been mandated with increasing impact over the next five years.  This session will attempt to provide a map to these programs and provide operational examples.
