Top European Transport Leaders Featured at EBACE2013
March 20, 2013
Europe’s premier business aviation event, the European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE2013), will feature presentations by several of Europe’s top transport leaders at the Opening General Session of the show, to be held in Geneva, Switzerland from May 21 to 23.
“Business Aviation: Making the Difference in Europe” is the topic of the keynote session, which will feature Matthew Baldwin, director of air transport for the European Commission's Directorate General (DG) for Mobility and Transport, and Jacek Krawczyk, vice president of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC).
“We are honored that these key European transport leaders will attend EBACE2013 and share their views on the state of aviation in the European region with our Attendees,” said Ed Bolen, NBAA president and CEO, which co-hosts EBACE along with the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA). “This is a unique opportunity for EBACE delegates to hear from several of Europe’s top aviation experts.”
In January 2010, Baldwin was appointed to the European Commission's DG Trade in charge of market access and industry, and in March 2011, he was made director of air transport for DG Mobility and Transport. He served as deputy chef de cabinet for the EU trade commissioner before moving to DG Trade as head of the unit of market access, and subsequently became head of the World Trade Organization unit.
Krawczyk has served in his current position since October 2010, and has been an EESC member since 2004. He has acted as rapporteur for a number of opinions on European aviation.
The EBACE2013 Opening General Session will be moderated by Bolen, as well as Fabio Gamba, CEO of EBAA.
EBACE2013 will feature three days of exhibits, a large aircraft static display and education sessions – all located at the Palexpo convention center and Geneva International Airport. Now in its 13th year, EBACE is aviation’s largest educational event in Europe.
