Indoor Static Display of Aircraft Coming to Orlando for NBAA2014
Aug. 5, 2014
Building on a successful introduction last year in Las Vegas, the 2014 NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA2014) in Orlando, FL will feature an indoor static display of light, fixed-wing business aircraft and helicopters, in addition to the expansive outdoor static aircraft display that is a hallmark of NBAA’s annual convention.
Approximately 12 to 15 light aircraft will be on static display in North Exhibit Hall B of the Orange County Convention Center throughout NBAA2014, which will take place from Oct. 21 to 23.
This will be the first time that an indoor static display of aircraft has been featured in Orlando, noted Joe Hart, NBAA director, static displays. “We received a tremendously positive response to the indoor static display last year in Las Vegas so it was natural for us to bring this popular feature to our 2014 convention, as well,” he said.
“Getting planes to the convention center can be a challenge, and it requires a lot of pre-planning to make sure it goes smoothly,” Hart added. “NBAA works closely with the Florida Department of Transportation, the turnpike authorities and highway patrol to allow us to tow the aircraft on the highway system.”
The indoor display will complement the approximately 95 business aircraft, ranging from small piston aircraft to the largest intercontinental business jets, scheduled for display at nearby Orlando Executive Airport (ORL) throughout the show.
“Our indoor and outdoor static displays each offer the best opportunity to make side-by-side comparisons of models throughout the diverse fleet of business aircraft available today, all in a convenient location,” Hart said.
Also for the first time, the indoor static display of aircraft will host the NBAA Coffee Social. Taking place from 2 to 3 p.m. on Oct. 21, the Coffee Social offers the attendees the opportunity to meet with their industry peers, and gain insight and advice from other business aviation professionals and NBAA staff.
Also at NBAA2014, attendees will have the opportunity to review the latest in business aviation products, technology and services, participate in more than 100 education sessions and compare the industry’s most innovative aircraft on static display.
