Carville, Matalin to Return to NBAA Convention
July 23, 2014
With the national mid-term elections approaching, and buzz about the 2016 U.S. presidential election already brewing, attendees at the National Business Aviation Association’s (NBAA’s) annual Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA2014) will have front-row seats to the insightful, often humorous perspectives and commentary from political power couple James Carville and Mary Matalin.
This will be the fourth NBAA convention appearance for the pundits, who most recently spoke at NBAA2012. Carville and Matalin are slated to appear in an hour-long moderated discussion, “All’s Fair: Love, War and Politics,” during the second-day opening session for this year’s show, on Wednesday, Oct. 22.
When the duo spoke at NBAA2012, just six days before the general election, they shared their opinions on the contest that pitted former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney against incumbent President Barack Obama. Both took audience questions and gave their thoughts on the impact that year’s Hurricane Sandy might have on the election.
Carville and Matalin are famous for their unparalleled expertise, as well as for their diametrically opposing points of view. Carville, “the Ragin’ Cajun,” is a Democratic consultant with a string of electoral successes dating back to 1986; he’s well known for guiding former President Bill Clinton to victory in 1992. Matalin comes at politics from the other end of the spectrum: Hers is among the most authoritative and powerful conservative voices in American politics. She also launched her career in the 1980s, serving under former President Ronald Reagan, and more recently was assistant to former President George W. Bush and assistant and counselor to former Vice President Dick Cheney – the first White House official to hold the double title.
Carville and Matalin also are both accomplished public speakers and media personalities who have made innumerable appearances on TV and radio and in film and print, as well as the best-selling authors of several books, including two joint memoirs.
This year's NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA2014) will be held in Orlando, FL from Oct. 21 to 23. For more information, visit the NBAA2014 website.
