How Attendees Can Help Make SDC2022 Green

Attendees won’t need to go out of their way to be sustainable at SDC2022. Learn about the easy ways you can make an individual impact on the show’s sustainability efforts.

SDC2022 Day of Service

Join fellow SDC2022 attendees for a fun and impactful way to make a difference in the local community. Get hands-on removing debris from a local beach and learn more about the Southern California environment. This event will be facilitated by San Diego Coastkeeper, a non-profit organization committed to protecting and restoring fishable, swimmable and drinkable waters in San Diego County. Lunch will be provided for all participants. A $25 registration fee is required to participate.

Hotels

• Opt to have your room cleaned only when absolutely necessary.
• Stay in the NBAA housing block. These hotels have committed to engage in sustainable practices.
• Use the linen and towel reuse program at your hotel and turn off lights and air conditioning when leaving the room for the day.
• Limit water usage and stick to showers over baths.
• When available, utilize the hotel app for keyless entry into your room.

Transportation

• When booking flights to San Diego, Google Flights allows you to sort your options according to CO₂ emissions.
• Take advantage of the many transit options available versus taking taxis alone.

  • SDC2022 shuttle buses between San Diego hotels and the convention center and between the convention center and the aircraft display
  • San Diego Trolley
  • Share taxis and ride-sharing cars with others in your party
  • Walk when possible

At SDC2022

• Many exhibitors have digital resources. Ask for them instead of printed resources.
• Responsibly dispose of waste materials by recycling or composting at the convention center and at your hotel.
• Be mindful of what you’re taking away from the show.
• Download and use the SDC2022 mobile app. There will be no printed show guide.
• Recycle your badge at the end of SDC2022 by dropping it in one of the collection bins on your way out of the convention center.

Back Home

• While preparing for your trip, consider packing light. You can always wash your clothes while on the road!
• Unplug as many devices as possible before departing for SDC2022.
• Adjust the temperature in your home to use less energy while you are away.
