High Demand Leads to More Exhibit Space for ABACE2013
December 3, 2012
When the 2012 edition of the Asian Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition concluded its final day last March, NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen marked the event a success. "ABACE2012 met all of our estimates and expectations, as well as those for the Exhibitors and Attendees," Bolen said.
Now, ABACE is returning to Hongqiao International Airport in Shanghai, China from April 16 to 18, 2013, and NBAA's Vice President, Exhibits Linda Peters is tasked with making a good show even better.
"We started off with the 4,000 square meters [13,000 sq. ft.] of hangar space, where we had all the indoor Exhibitor displays and some meeting room space as well," Peters said. "With the strong demand for exhibit space, fortunately, we were able to grow outside the hangar into a pavilion area and add some exhibit space there. But at the end of the day, we had maxed out the space for both exhibits and the meeting room area."
The plan for ABACE2013 will include 4,800 square meters (15,600 sq. ft.) of space in the pavilion, as well as a new chalet plan, allowing for up to triple-sized chalets for Exhibitors to conduct meetings with clients, Peters said.
"We're building on a successful ABACE2012," she added. "The show in 2013 will be even better."
Peters also said she is working on reducing the length of lines for Attendees getting into the exhibit area. "We're now looking at ways to speed up and ease security procedures for those entering the exhibit hall – of course, without compromising security," she explained.
Since space is at a premium for ABACE2013, Peters suggested that Exhibitors consider planning far in advance. Indoor exhibit space is selling quickly, with a number of applications already submitted in order to take advantage of the early-bird discount. By the beginning of January, much of the Exhibitor setup information disseminated on the ABACE website will go live.
"That's when we'll start distributing the Exhibitor Service Kit, and people will have what they need to assemble a proper display at ABACE2013," she said.
