Pilots, flight attendants, schedulers, dispatchers and maintenance technicians will all find sessions of interest to them at the upcoming Aviation Safety Show-Down at Addison Airport (ADS) in the Dallas area on April 3. Hosted by the North Texas Business Aviation Association (NTBAA), the event will offer more than a dozen different presentations on a wide range of aviation topics.

“The Show-Down is the only event in North Texas that is geared toward providing safety information and other educational programs for all groups of aviation professionals,” said Marj Rose, president of NTBAA. “There is something for everyone in business aviation who is interested in learning more about aviation safety.”

The event will be held at Million Air Dallas at ADS, and will feature 16 exhibitors, as well as two aircraft on static display, a Gulfstream G650 and a Dassault Falcon 2000LX. The proceeds from a golf outing the previous day will go to the Dallas-based Challenge Air charity, which provides once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to special needs children and youth through the gift of flight.

Rick Rowe, retired manager of Bombardier’s Safety Standdown programs, will give the keynote presentation on professionalism. Other sessions include a discussion of flight crew fatigue by Pete Agur of Van Allen Group; “SMS: Not Just for Pilots,” presented by Sunshine McCarthy of Baldwin Aviation; “The Role of Pilot Monitoring,” presented by J.R. Russell of ProActive Safety Systems; and a discussion of NBAA’s top safety focus areas, led by Eric Barfield, chairman of NBAA’s Safety Committee.

The Safety Show-Down is the second annual safety event hosted by NTBAA, and is open to NTBAA members and non-members. Space is limited, so attendees are encouraged to pre-register.
