Plan to Attend Greater Washington Safety Standdown, May 16
The Greater Washington Business Aviation Association (GWBAA) will hold its annual Safety Standdown on May 16 at the National Transportation Safety Board's Training Center in Ashburn, VA. This year’s keynote speaker will be astronaut Mike Mullane presenting his "Countdown to Safety." There will be presentations from Andreas Bentz on OSHA, Jim Garland on a "Flight Plan for Excellence" and a FlightSafety International representative on crew resource management. Vision Safe will provide a smoke demonstrator/trainer. For sponsorship opportunities, contact GWBAA's Jim Garland. Business Aviation Memorial Open for Greater St. Louis Area to Be Held June 2
The Greater St. Louis Business Aviation Association (GSLBAA) will host its 36th Annual Business Aviation Memorial Open on June 2 at the Landing at Spirit Golf Club in Chesterfield, MO. Proceeds from this event benefit the GSLBAA Educational Foundation and the Wings of Hope charity.

Tampa Bay Aviation Association's Next Meeting Is Jun. 14
The Tampa Bay Aviation Association (TBAA) will hold its next meeting at Tampa Jet Center on Tampa International Airport (TPA) at 9:00 a.m. Featured speaker Scott Patton will discuss the Airlog Archives system. Next Pacific Northwest Meeting to Be Held in Portland Area, June 20
The Pacific Northwest Business Aviation Association (PNBAA) will host its next general luncheon meeting at Global Aviation Hillsboro on June 20 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Lunch is free for all attendees, and PNBAA is looking into chartering a bus for attendees from Seattle. There will be presentations from a Portland TRACON representative, the Port of Portland operations and facilities manager, and the founder and retired CEO of Louisiana Pacific, Harry Merlo. Connecticut Business Aviation Group Runway Safety Forum, June 20
To help operators reduce the risk of runway excursions – an aviation incident on the rise – NBAA and aircraft underwriter USAIG are supporting a Runway Safety Forum on June 20 at 8:30 a.m. The forum will be held on Waterbury-Oxford Airport (OXC) and hosted by the Connecticut Business Aviation Group (CTBAG) and Key Air. Pacific Rim Schedulers Group Hosting June 21st Portland Meeting
The Pacific Rim Schedulers & Dispatchers Association is hosting an informational dinner meeting on Thursday, June 21 in Portland, OR. Registration begins at 5:00 p.m. and the guest speakers will be Federal Security Director Michael Irwin, the senior Department of Homeland Security representative for the state of Oregon, and Richard Kolodner, Portland International Airport (PDX) supervisory transportation security inspector-aviation. Irwin and Kolodner will discuss overall TSA roles and responsibilities, security program initiatives, flight training, the TSA and general aviation partnership, and more. Carolina Group Holding Training Conference in Concord This July
The Carolina Aviation Professionals Association (CAPA) will hold its 2012 Training, Standardization & Compliance Conference on July 17 & 18 at the Embassy Suites in Concord, NC. Co-hosted by several CAPA members, the two-day conference will bring together a wide cross-section of Part 91, 121, 125, 135 and military operators, together with representatives from the FAA and National Transportation Safety Board. Pacific Northwest Charity Event to Be Held in Conjunction With NBAA's Seattle Forum
The Pacific Northwest Business Aviation Association (PNBAA) will hold its 4th Annual Charity Event on September 19 at the Golf Club at Newcastle in Newcastle, WA, in conjunction with the NBAA Regional Forum on September 20 at King County International Airport/Boeing Field (BFI) in Seattle.
