These awards are more than a Member benefit; they are also testimony to the high degree of professionalism inherent in business aircraft operations, and a tribute to the skill of a company’s management, maintenance, pilot and support personnel teams.

These NBAA awards have brought worldwide attention to the business aircraft safety record and have been endorsed and approved by the National Safety Council.

NBAA's Flying Safety Awards are given annually for the period January 1 to December 31. Acknowledgments are made during the Annual Meeting & Convention of the Association.

The categories of awards are as follows:

  • 60 Year Safe Flying Achievement Award
  • 50 Year Safe Flying Achievement Award
  • Corporate Business Flying Safety Award
  • Commercial Business Flying Safety Award
  • Aviation Maintenance Department Safety Award
  • Pilot Safety Award
  • Maintenance/Avionics Technician Safety Award
  • Aviation Support Services Safety Award

The NBAA Flying Safety Awards Rules & Regulations package, which includes application forms, is mailed in hardcopy to all Members that operate aircraft. Members also may download the 2010 application forms here:

Application Instructions

After downloading these PDF applications, users have two options: either print and fill out the application form by hand or type into the digital file using a version of the Adobe Acrobat program to fill it out. When signing the application, either use the digital signature option or print out the completed form and sign by hand before returning to NBAA. Either a digital or hand signature is required. Users must have the full (not free) version of Adobe Acrobat in order to save changes to the PDF application.

All applications must be submitted to NBAA in hardcopy either via mail or fax to (202) 331-8364. Applications must be postmarked no later than March 1, 2010. Those postmarked after the deadline will be returned without action. For more information, contact NBAA at (202) 783-9000 or info@nbaa.org.
