The NBAA Gold Wing Award for Reporting Excellence is presented annually for excellent, accurate and insightful reporting on issues related to business aviation, by trade or nontrade media. The award recognizes journalism's important role in reporting the significant contributions of business aviation to the national economy. ("Business aviation" is defined as the use of general aviation aircraft for business purposes.)

Winners receive an honorarium at the NBAA Annual Meeting & Convention Media Kickoff Breakfast. Co-authors of a winning entry will share honorarium.

Entry Rules:

  • Entries may be single articles, features or a series on business aviation issues published in print or digital formats, including but not limited to magazine, newspaper, newsletter, blog, podcast and video entries.
  • Stories should have appeared in print, online or on-air between July 1, 2010, and June 30, 2011.
  • All entries should be submitted as follows, with completed entry form attached:
    • For articles originally published in print: Submit article clipped and pasted or taped on white paper.
    • For articles originally posted online: Submit URL and article either in hard copy or as PDF file on CD.
    • For audio/video entries, submit URL and digital files on CD/DVD.
  • Entries will be judged by a panel of experts, and their decision is final.
  • The deadline for the 2011 award is September 30, 2011. Entries must be received by this date to be eligible.
  • All entries become the property of NBAA and entrant gives consent for reprinting/duplication. Entrant also gives NBAA permission to use entry and entrant’s name for educational or promotional purposes.
